Foxhaunt release new song ‘Absolution’
FOXHAUNT have released a new single!
The Leeds alt-rock and metalcore outfit have returned with Absolution, their first new material since continuing their heavier direction on previous releases such as The Daylight Between Us. The new track sees the quartet leaning further into crushing riffs and nu-metal influences while retaining a modern edge and also marks the first release to feature new drummer Tom Beverley.
Speaking about the song, the band explains, “Absolution is about the weight of living in a world shaped by people in power who seem completely detached from the consequences of their decisions. It comes from the frustration of watching greed, self-interest and a lack of compassion take priority over the lives of the people they’re supposed to serve.
The chorus plays with the idea of judgement and a power greater than any position of authority. However untouchable these people might seem in this life, there’s something strangely comforting in the thought that one day they may have to answer for the damage they’ve caused. In the end, no amount of power can guarantee forgiveness and there may be no absolution waiting for them.”
