Top 10 bands you must watch at Slam Dunk Festival 2026
Pop-punk, hardcore, metalcore, and everything in between – Slam Dunk Festival is the beating heart of alternative music in the UK. Year after year, the festival kicks off the season and transforms parkland in Hatfield and Leeds alike into a haven for the heavy-hearted. In 2026, festival goers face a lineup that balances cult heroes, rising stars and arena-worthy headliners, and with so much on offer, we’ve dug deep to bring you ten absolutely essential sets. Whether you’re a seasoned pit veteran, or (like many before you) this is your first time in the field, these are the bands you simply cannot miss at Slam Dunk Festival 2026.
PEST CONTROL – Main Stage East (Left)
Forget the coffee; if you need to kick off your day with a bang, look no further than Leeds’ very own wrecking crew. PEST CONTROL deal in absolute velocity, marrying furious hardcore and classic thrash riffs. Some bands simply play shows, but PEST CONTROL unleash a controlled detonation. The five-piece team are rocking up to their first-ever Slam Dunk appearance with serious momentum behind them, having already shared stages with OBITUARY and SCOWL. With a live reputation that’s quickly becoming the stuff of underground legend, PEST CONTROL will prove exactly why everyone in the hardcore scene has been losing their minds over them.
DEAD PONY – Scott’s Key Club Stage
This Glaswegian band deal out sharp, gleefully defiant tunes, fronted by singer Anna Shields who’s magnetic voice can switch from sugary sweet to raw ferocity in a heartbeat. Meanwhile, the rest of the quartet stitch together chunky alt-rock grooves with a dash of punk and flashes of nu-metal heaviness. DEAD PONY’s debut album IGNORE THIS laid out the blueprint – songs with zero pretense but maximum impact. Now, with material from their latest EP Eat My Dust! fresh off the press, their morning slot will be a full-throttle blast of noise and attitude, and festival goers can expect some of these mega tunes performed for the first time this year.
UNPEOPLE – Main Stage West
Slam Dunk Festival has a habit of platforming festival fixtures before they explode into musical enormity, and London’s UNPEOPLE are said to be the scene’s future favourite. Their self-titled 2024 EP turned heads for very good reason – the foursome giftwrapped gut-punching emotion and social unease inside towering riffs and vast, irresistible, noisy choruses. Live, they’ve already cultivated a fanatical following, and their debut Slam Dunk Festival set is a golden chance to witness the moment a promising name becomes something far more significant. If you love a sunny singalong, then unpeople’s set is not to be missed!
TRASH BOAT – Scott’s Key Club Stage
In 2015, TRASH BOAT won the incredible chance to open up Slam Dunk Festival. Now, a decade on from the release of the album that followed that performance, Nothing I Write You [Can Change What You’ve Been Through], these Hertfordshire upstarts are marking the momentous occasion by playing the entire record from front to back. In 2016, the band was in mid-metamorphosis, shedding their pop-punk skin in real time to reveal something darker and more unflinchingly personal. In the 10 years since, Tobi Duncan has grown into one of the UK’s most compelling frontmen, casually showing off vocal belts that suggest he’s hiding a second set of lungs. For many, hearing these songs again will feel equal parts nostalgia trip and emotional release, but if you’re a newcomer to their music, don’t let that stop you from witnessing the magical energy of five lads from St Albans returning home to one of their favourite festivals.
GUILT TRIP – Main Stage East (Left)
Manchester’s GUILT TRIP have been carving their name into the UK hardcore circuit with relentless force, built on a childhood friendship between vocalist Jay Valentine and guitarist Jak Maden. That chemistry feeds directly into their sound: thick, swaggering, metallic hardcore that demands movement. GUILT TRIP’s thrash crossover sound is present across their whole discography, and the crowd will certainly make their return to the pit after a US co-headline tour with fellow Slam Dunk headliner MALEVOLENCE feel like a celebration waiting to erupt. Fresh off the heels of their surprise EP God Forgives, you can expect teasers from their upcoming LP Armour Of Angels and a moshpit that will cause the British tectonic plates to rumble.
BOSTON MANOR – Monster Energy Stage (Right)
BOSTON MANOR’s evolution from scrappy Blackpool kids to one of the UK’s most adventurous alternative acts has been riveting to witness, and their 2026 set draws a direct line back to where it all started. The band will play Be Nothing in its entirety for the record’s 10th anniversary, resurrecting the aching, anthemic emo guitar music that first built their fiercely loyal following. As the afternoon sun starts to dip, thousands of voices will throw every word back at frontman Henry Cox, and certainly create a tender moment that honours a beloved debut while standing testament to how far BOSTON MANOR have travelled since.
THE HOME TEAM – Scott’s Key Club Stage
If Slam Dunk Festival were a party, then THE HOME TEAM’s set will be the moment the lights go down and the vibe deepens. This Seattle band’s take on heavy music is drenched in R&B sensuality, funk-kissed basslines and the sort of colossal pop hooks that feel beamed in from a different dimension. Years of DIY touring has sharpened their stage craft, and on stage, the quartet radiate an infectious, downright sultry joy that’s impossible to not groove to. Watch out for Brian Butcher’s luscious locks and mischievous smile, because he’s about to draw you in to one big, sexy singalong.
STAND ATLANTIC – Monster Energy Stage (Left)
Australia’s STAND ATLANTIC have spent their career dismantling whatever box people try to put them in. What started with the scrappy promise of Sidewinder and Skinny Dipping has evolved into a glitch-laden, genre-melting spectacle from a band that still knows exactly how to land a knockout chorus. Singer Bonnie Fraser remains a captivating presence on stage -defiant, cheeky and unpredictable- and the band’s return to UK shores after two years sets out to be a glorious, high-wire act of pop-rock abandon.
VUKOVI – Scott’s Key Club Stage
There’s no barrier strong enough to contain the energy of a VUKOVI set. Vocalist Janine Shilstone treats every performance like an act of beautiful trespass, prowling on stage barefoot or tightroping the barricade, while guitarist Hamish Reilly’s thick electronic riffs and industrial-edged production swell around her. This Scottish duo’s music is a glittering demolition derby of alt-rock and digital chaos, and after the incredible reception of their 2024 album MY GOD HAS GOT A GUN, their conviction has never been sharper. Armed with boisterous swagger (and honestly probably some Buckfast), there is no better band to headline the Key Club Stage – just keep your eyes on the frontwoman, because she’ll be rallying behind you before you know it.
KNOCKED LOOSE – Main Stage East (Right)
How do you close a festival as gargantuan as Slam Dunk Festival? By handing the final main stage slot to a band who’ve dragged the darkest corners of hardcore into the mainstream without softening a single edge. KNOCKED LOOSE’s latest album You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To cemented the Louisville quintet as one of the most vital heavy bands on the planet. Bryan Garris’ blood-curdling howl summons walls of death and pit antics that swallow everything in their path. This performance will be a collective release that borders on spiritual and likely the one to define the entire weekend. When the lights go down, if you’re not going to be in the thick of it, for your own safety, you best step aside.
These ten acts are merely the tip of a very loud, trembling iceberg – Slam Dunk Festival 2026 is teeming with so much talent, waiting to ambush you between stages. Soak it all in and follow your ears -trust us- and we’ll see you in the pit.

SDF South will take place on Saturday May 23rd 2026 at Hatfield Park, Hatfield and SDF North will take place on Sunday May 24th 2026 at Temple Newsam, Leeds. Tickets will be available from Saturday, September 27th and can be purchased here.
