Dissimulator announce new album ‘Artifice Dissolves’
DISSIMULATOR have announced a brand new album!
The Quebec death/thrash trio have revealed their new album, Artifice Dissolves, which is scheduled for release on October 2nd via 20 Buck Spin. The upcoming record follows the band’s debut album, 2024’s Lower Form Resistance, and sees the band pushing their sci-fi-infused blend of technical death and thrash metal into even more complex and aggressive territory.
To coincide with the announcement, DISSIMULATOR have also unveiled Alloyed, the lead single from the forthcoming album. Speaking about the new track, vocalist and guitarist Claude Leduc shares, “Alloyed is a philosophical musing about Günther Anders’ concept of Promethean shame – the idea that deep down human beings feel inferior or diminished against the perfection of their technological creations. The song highlights the band’s syncopated riffing style chugging in lockstep with the lyrics, which describe this self-alienation metaphorically through the motivations and consequences of undergoing a procedure to become fully cybernetic. It is a reminder that the real danger of our relationship to technology is not that machines will surpass humans, but that humans will lower themselves to machines.”
