Carnifex announce new album ‘More Than Misery’
CARNIFEX have announced a brand new album!
The Southern California deathcore titans have revealed their new album, More Than Misery, which is scheduled for release on November 6th via Sumerian Records. The upcoming record follows the band’s recent single Roses & Rotting Corpses and marks the follow-up to 2023’s Necromanteum.
To coincide with the announcement, CARNIFEX have also unveiled More Than Misery, the title track from the forthcoming album, alongside an accompanying music video.
The new record sees vocalist Scott Ian Lewis approach his lyric writing from a different perspective. While previous CARNIFEX records documented survival in real time, More Than Misery reflects on what comes after enduring those experiences. Musically, the band have aimed to combine the raw aggression of their early deathcore sound with the symphonic and death metal elements developed throughout their later catalogue.
Speaking about the album and title track, Lewis shares, “More Than Misery is about what happens when suffering becomes more than something you endure, it becomes what changes you. This is CARNIFEX at our most honest and unapologetically brutal.”
