Less Than Jake release new song ‘Another Hostage Situation’

LESS THAN JAKE have released a new single!

The Gainesville, Florida ska-punk veterans have unveiled Another Hostage Situation, a previously unreleased B-side from their 2024 EP, Uncharted.

The track offers fans another glimpse into the Uncharted sessions, pairing the band’s trademark blend of infectious melodies, energetic punk rock and tongue-in-cheek storytelling. An accompanying visualiser has also been released alongside the single.

Speaking about the song, vocalist and guitarist Chris DeMakes shares, “Hostage Situation is about my son and daughter. At the time I wrote it, they were seven and six years old, respectively. It was inspired by morning time with them, before being sent off to school. Some days it was as smooth as silk, and other days, it was a full blown thunderstorm. Ya know, the joys of parenting little ones. The ‘hostage’ was me, and the ‘situation’ was the chaos of that particular morning. My kids are amazing, and the lyrics are as tongue in cheek as you can get.”

The release arrives as the band prepare for a busy run of live dates across the US, Australia and New Zealand, including an appearance at Riot Fest in Chicago.
