Dungeon Serpent announce new album ‘Lamentations Of The Shadowkingdoms’
DUNGEON SERPENT have announced a brand new album!
The Vancouver, British Columbia melodic death metal outfit have revealed their sophomore album, Lamentations Of The Shadowkingdoms, which is scheduled for release on October 30th via Profound Lore Records. The upcoming record follows the band’s 2021 debut album, World Of Sorrows, and marks their first release for the label.
The upcoming album was mixed and mastered by Damian Herring of HORRENDOUS at his Subterranean Watchtower Studios [BLOOD INCANTATION, RIPPED TO SHREDS, SENTIENT HORROR] and features artwork created by dark artist Marc Potts. To coincide with the announcement, DUNGEON SERPENT have also unveiled Rainland’s Elegy, the lead single from the forthcoming record.
Speaking about the new track, band mastermind Arawn shares, “I am very happy with this choice of single. I think this is in many ways the most creative song on this album and we pulled off some of our most interesting ideas to date here, especially the big middle section which combined Dismember style sequenced patterns with modal jazz influenced chord movements and bass solos playing around the key changes. It is definitely the most advanced song on the album and most clearly demonstrates what I am trying to do with DUNGEON SERPENT overall. The music video was a very DIY affair filmed on essentially no budget, but this makes it extremely fucking true to the cult and genuine.”
