Irk announce new album ‘Recipes from the Bible’
IRK have announced a brand new album!
The album, titled Recipes from the Bible, is the Leeds trio’s debut and scheduled for release in December.
The upcoming album was recorded and mixed by drummer Matt Deamer at Glide Studio and final touches added at New Alliance East in Massachusetts by mastering engineer Nick Zampiello (DAUGHTERS, CONVERGE). It also features saxophone from Miles Spilsbury (THE PHYSICS HOUSE BAND) and guest vocals from Kelly Bishop (BEIGE PALACE).
Speaking about the album, vocalist Jack Gordan says, “lyrically, Recipes from the Bible is about the awful world we live in. It is about the sexy and exciting new ways in which intersectionally marginalised people are tricked into apathy by muscular haircuts with a phobia of context. It’s all at once angry, absurd, frustrated, disordered, violent, idealistic and unreasonable. Just like the Bible.”
The band have also released a music video for new track Spectre At The Fiesta. About the video, Jack Gordan adds, “we wanted something that would fit visually. The 8-bit video game style is already quite evocative, and the arcade space-shooter style amplifies that heightened adrenaline feeling.”

Recipes of the Bible is set for release 7th December via self-release.
