Allegaeon unveil Grey Matter Mechanics – Apassionata Ex Machinea
American tech-death metallers ALLEGAEON have unveiled a brand new track!
The track, titled Grey Matter Mechanics – Appassionata Ex Machinea, is the first glimpse of new material from ALLEGAEON since their last studio record, 2014’s Elements of the Infinite. Since then, the band has experienced a lineup change with Riley McShane coming in on vocals for Ezra Haynes who departed in 2015.
Speaking about the new track, guitarist Greg Burgess says, “Grey Matter Mechanics – Apassionata Ex Machinea was the product of coming home after our tour with EXMORTUS and ARSIS and basically feeling like I sucked at guitar. So I just sat and played classical for a few weeks, and listened to only classical and flamenco music. One of my friends showed me the band FLAMETAL with Ben Woods on guitar. I loved the combination of flamenco and metal so much that I started writing. Slowly this song came together. I honestly didn’t think it was gonna work for ALLEGAEON but the dudes loved it so it stayed in the running. It turned out really well I think!”

ALLEGAEON are currently working on the follow up to Elements of the Infinite. Whilst no details have surfaced as of yet, we can expect a release at some point in 2016 via Metal Blade Records.
