Amon Amarth announce new album ‘The Allfather Awakens’

AMON AMARTH have announced a brand new album!

Titled The Allfather Awakens, the upcoming release from the Swedish melodic death metal giants is set for release on October 2nd via Metal Blade Records. The band’s thirteenth studio album is the follow-up to 2022’s The Great Heathen Army and continues the band’s long-running exploration of Norse mythology and history. While not a concept album, the record is described as a collection of epic tales inspired by conflict, sacrifice, and the influence of Oden, the Allfather himself.

Speaking about the album’s creation, guitarist Olavi Mikkonen shares, “we worked on one song at a time and made each song as good as possible. Then we recorded one song at a time until each track was totally finished, drums, guitars, and vocals. Only then did we start on the next one.”

Alongside the announcement, AMON AMARTH have released the new single, Gjallarhorn. The new song is the latest single to be released from the upcoming album, following on from We Rule The Waves and Upphaf.
