Arkdown release track by track guide for ‘The Calling’

ARKDOWN have released a track by track guide for their upcoming new EP!

Formed in 2015 in Sheffield, the Steel City quintet have slowly been plugging away in the UK underground for some time now. Having supported a glut of established artists from FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY, OCEANS ATE ALASKA to MARTYR DEFILED and SHIELDS, momentum is certainly building for the band and now, they arrive with their new record The Calling. We caught up with the rising metallers, who drop their new EP tomorrow, to give us an exclusive track by track breakdown of the EP!

Wake Up

Wake Up opens up the record with a bang. It’s fast paced and frantic and keeps you off guard with sudden stops before coming back with another barrage. The chorus is anthemic and a great one for crowds to join in with.

It Calls Me

As one of the more aggressive tracks on the record, It Calls Me is straight to the point with its bouncy and energetic flow which draws on hardcore influences in places.

Mirrors

Mirrors is a dark and hard hitting song. It opens up with sinister guitar tones and heavy drums before punishing you with high screams and intense blasting before leading you into one of the most melodic choruses on the record.

Five Years

Five Years opens up as very groove and tone driven track with the signature sudden stops and melodic build up to second greatly anthemic chorus before kicking up the pace and lowering the tones.

Falling

Falling is a step outside the norm for us. People will either love it or hate it. It’s very stripped down and by far the most melodic track of the album. The song really builds up as it progresses and, if you didn’t think so in the beginning, it’ll definitely feel like an ARKDOWN song by the end.

The Calling is set for release on November 2nd via self-release.
