Belmondo release new music video for ‘Bethlehem’

BELMONDO have released a new music video!

The new music video, for the track Bethlehem, is the brand new single from the Brighton-based alternative band and is taken from their upcoming debut EP, The Blessed And The Evil, which is scheduled to be released in April this year, via Silent Cult. More information about the debut EP will be revealed in due course.

The new single was produced and mixed by Jag Jago [THE MACCABEES, JAMIE T, THE MAGIC GANG] with mastering from Grant Berry [DEAF HAVANA, JAMES AND THE COLD GUN, ALL TIME LOW].

Speaking about the new single, vocalist/bassist Carmen Mellino says, “I’d just come home from a fight that’d tired me out emotionally. Initially, I was trying to cram a big ‘fuck you’ into a song, but it shape-shifted into a mystical outcry that became Bethlehem.’It’s more personal than anything I’ve written, a confession that felt more like an exorcism, overwhelming and cathartic.

The phrase ‘I repent for the Blessed and the Evil’ serves as the namesake of the EP, encapsulating the spirit of all four tracks. It represents my remorses on either side. It’s the acknowledgment that you can’t have one without the other, telling me they’ve always been one and the same.”
