Black Tusk announce new album ‘The Way Forward’

BLACK TUSK have announced a new album!

Titled The Way Forward, the upcoming album from the American sludge metal band is the long-awaited follow-up to 2018’s TCBT, and is scheduled to be released in April this year, via Season Of Mist.

Speaking about the upcoming album, guitarist/vocalist Chris ‘Scary’ Adams says, “we do use a few lays, effects and synths here and there for texture and space. This record still feels raw and powerful. It captures the feel of being at a BLACK TUSK show.” Guitarist/vocalist Andrew Fidler adds, “it’s been 19 years since we started this band. That’s seen us have some success and some setbacks, some label changes and lineup changes. One thing has remained steadfast though: our love for playing music. This record represents just that, our steadfast resolve to keep making music together as a band and evolve our sound. This is The Way Forward.”

Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released a new song from the upcoming album; Brushfire. Speaking about the new song, bassist/vocalist Derek Lynch says, “thematically, I wanted the lyrics in all of its aggressiveness to keep with the idea of pushing forward even when the world is trying to drag you down. The mood of the lyrics needed to match the pulverizing tempo of the song.”
