Damnation Festival announce Sigh

Damnation Festival have announced that SIGH for this year’s festival!

Following last week’s announcement, that saw AKERCOCKE and VIKING SKULL land slots at the festival’s A Night Of Salvation pre-show, now, Japanese black metal legends SIGH have been confirmed for this year’s festival!

The band will perform two sets over two days, including an exclusive airing of 1993’s Scorn Defeat. The first show, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their debut album, will be hosted on the Cult Never Dies Stage at A Night of Salvation.

The second set, showcasing the rest of the band’s back catalogue, will take place at Damnation the following day. These will be the only two shows SIGH perform in the UK in 2023.

Speaking about the announcement, festival organiser Gavin McInally says, “we made a decision early this year to go big with A Night of Salvation but even we’re surprised by just how ‘big’ that’s going to be. We’re only three sets in of 15 and we have the incredible SIGH celebrating Scorn Defeat, AKERCOCKE playing Choronzon and even the mighty VIKING SKULL making a return with Chapter One. We still have pretty much the entire main stage to announce and a sprinkling of Church Road Records talent to add. As for Damnation itself, SIGH will have the chance to showcase not just how great they were 30 years ago, but the strength and depth of their entire catalogue in another exclusive set which promises to be as popular as their rare UK outing at Damnation in 2008. Grab you tickets today and make sure you are part of this weekend.”
