Desert Clouds release track by track for ‘Nothing Beyond The Cage’

DESERT CLOUDS have released a track by track guide for their new album!

Originally formed back in 2008 in Naples, Italy, the atmospheric alt-rock quartet have been honing their sound for some time now. In 2010, by permanently moving to London, their upcoming album, Nothing Beyond The Cage, represents the next stage in their bubbling career. Ahead of its release this Friday, DESERT CLOUDS have revealed an exclusive track by track guide for their brand new record!

Overmore

The first track on the album is Overmore and its focuses on a man who goes back to his past and finds out that everything he has built has been destroyed by all those sins and misdeeds (impersonated, metaphorically by “They”) he has committed during his whole life. His conscience, worried by “Their” reaction, implores him not to show up in “Their” town.

The Outcast Trail (See you Chris)

Originally See you Chris, this song is a tribute to Chris Cornell. The Outcast Trail is a journey beyond the solar system where no one can hear you, where no one can be seen. Everything you have left behind will be forgotten and no one will miss your presence.

Speed of Light

Speed of Light is our current single. The track is an attempt of escaping the existence’s routine, made of breathing, waking up, going to sleep, getting frustrated, being sad and being happy and being sad again, feeling the relief and the joy, getting hurt, feeling jailed and wondering if you will be free one day, and keep wondering.

Take Off

Next we have Take Off. This song is all about the constant contrast between worries and peace of mind in life, sometimes determined by the lack of bravery when it comes to leave things behind and dive into a new state of being.

Under Tons

Under Tons offers perspective on people proudly walking, throughout their life, towards a destination that, seen from afar, appears to be like a Pier’s end. A nonsense journey unless you realise where you are really heading to.

The Judgement

For The Judgement we wrote about that moment when everything seems pointless and the only purpose becomes knowing the result of your actions in life, waiting for that judgement, which eventually loses importance, compared to the relief given by the end of your existence.

Whistling In The Rain

This song represents the carefreeness of a man who finally realises that nothing matters but the carefreeness. He walks down along the rail like a massive locomotive would do, no time for braking, no need of doing it, and thinks on how much effort he has put to reach this state of mind.

Nothing Beyond The Cage is set for release on January 18th via self-release.
