Disturbed return from hiatus with new single
Chicago metallers DISTURBED announced today that they have returned from a 4-year hiatus and will be releasing a new album in August.
Immortalized will be released on August 21st and you can hear its first single The Vengeful One below:
A statement from the band was as follows:
“The hiatus is over. Over the past year, we’ve been secretly writing and recording a brand new album. Today, we are excited to share a new song called The Vengeful One along with a new music video. It’s off our upcoming album called Immortalized, which will be released on August 21, and is available for pre-order today. This album had the arduous task of, in some way, justifying the hiatus; giving the fans something that made it worth our time away from one another. We hope that it succeeds in that task. Thank you for staying with us over the years.”
Rumours of a comeback from DISTURBED had been circulating since April, when Blabbermouth.net reported that the band were secretly working on a record in Las Vegas. The band themselves then began teasing a release – blacking out their social media accounts and, in the last few days, posting a series of animated videos that appeared to show the band’s mascot The Guy waking up from a deep sleep. A newly-revamped logo was also revealed.
In the time since DISTURBED went on hiatus, vocalist David Draiman formed and toured with side-project DEVICE, whilst guitarist Dan Donegan and drummer Mike Wengren formed FIGHT OR FLIGHT; and bassist John Moyer worked with supergroup ADRENALINE MOB and Geoff Tate’s QUEENSRYCHE.
Immortalized will be released August 21st. Pre-orders are available now from www.disturbed1.com
