70 bands have been announced for next year’s festival!

After sadly having to postpone 2021’s festival to 2022 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, now, a whopping 70+ new bands have been confirmed for the UK’s biggest rock festival! The newly announced bands will join headliners KISSIRON MAIDEN and BIFFY CLYRO.

Leading the charge in today’s huge announcement are the returning KORN and DEFTONES who will likely perform sub-headlining sets on the main stage. Also appearing on the main stage across the festival weekend are THE PRETTY RECKLESSRISE AGAINST, POWERWOLF, THE RAVEN AGE, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, THEORY (OF A DEADMAN), THOSE DAMN CROWS, MONSTER TRUCK and WAYWARD SONS.

For Download Festival‘s second stage, headliners MEGADETH and STEEL PANTHER return from the postponed 2021 edition. THE DISTILLERS and THE DARKNESS land sub-headlining slots whilst LACUNA COIL, AIRBOURNE, CONTROL THE STORM, DAUGHTRY, SKILLET, WEDNESDAY 13, OF MICE & MEN, MASSIVE WAGONS, AYRON JONES and THE LAST INTERNATIONAL will perform across the weekend.

The Avalanche Stage has come out swinging with a stacked lineup of bands. FUNERAL FOR A FRIENDDESCENDENTS and THE GHOST INSIDE land stage headlining slots whilst HOLDING ABSENCELOATHESLEEP TOKENBOSTON MANORGRANDSONTRASH BOATTHE FAIM, WARGASMMARIANAS TRENCHJAMIE LENMANSTATIC DRESSTHE HARASALEMPRESS CLUBBLACKOUT PROBLEMSCEMETARY SUN and DEAD POSEY bulk out the stage’s lineup.

For The Dogtooth Stage, headliners ELETRIC WIZARD and SEPULTURA return as stage headliners. A.A. WILLIAMS, BLUES PILLS, BRITISH LION, DYING FETUS, BLEED FROM WITHIN, TWIN TEMPLE, BOKASSA, VENOM PRISON, SPIRITBOX, KILL THE LIGHTS, TEMPT, FIRE FROM THE GODS, HIGHER POWER, DEAD POET SOCIETY, JOYOUS WOLF, CELLAR DOOR MOON CROW, MODERN ERROR, LOTUS EATER, THE SCRATCH, DEAD LABEL, PHOXJAW, JJ WILDE, TEMPLES ON MARS, ANCHOR LANE, THE INJESTER and AS EVERYTHING UNFOLDS all land slots on the festival’s stage.
