Download Festival confirm first batch of bands

Download Festival have confirmed the first names for next year’s festival!

The weather may be getting colder but festival announcements of hotting up and Download Festival, the UK’s biggest rock and metal festival, have confirmed the first 20 names for 2019’s festival!

Leading the charge in today’s announcement is the three headliners. Classic rock legends DEF LEPPARD will perform Hysteria in its entirety in their only UK performance of 2019, masked metallers SLIPKNOT and progressive metal titans TOOL will all perform headlining sets on the festival’s main stage.

Also confirmed to perform at next year’s festival is SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORSWHITESNAKE, ROB ZOMBIETRIVIUMAMON AMARTHCARCASSDELAINDIE ANTWOORDME FIRST AND THE GIMME GIMMES, OPETHPOWER TRIPSKINDRED, REEL BIG FISHSTARSETTESLATHE AMITY AFFLICTION and UNDEROATH.

Speaking about performing at next year’s festival, DEF LEPPARD‘s Joe Elliot says, “we are delighted to be going back to headline Download in 2019! The festival has a very special place in our hearts and it’s such a great place to play. We will be playing Hysteria in full – yes, in full! – plus a load more of the hits, and we are going to put on a very special show for our UK fans. Can’t wait to see you all there!” WHITESNAKE‘s David Coverdale adds, “once again, we’ve been honoured to be invited to participate in the legendary DOWNLOAD 2019…Can’t Wait To See You All & Kick Arse Together!!!…So Ready to Rock!!!”

Download Festival takes place from June 14-16th. Tickets will be on sale 2pm on Thursday 25th October at 2018 prices until Tuesday November 6th and can be purchased here.
