Dragged Under announce new album ‘Social Battery: Low’
DRAGGED UNDER have announced a brand new album!
The Seattle punk rock and metalcore outfit have revealed their third studio album, Social Battery: Low, which is scheduled for release on March 12th, 2027 via Mascot Records. The upcoming record follows Upright Animals and marks the return of guitarist Ryan ‘Fluff’ Bruce and bassist Hans Hessburg, reuniting the band’s core line-up alongside vocalist Anthony Cappocchi, guitarist Sean Rosario and drummer Dylan Roy.
Speaking about the new record, Anthony Cappocchi shares, “I was so mad when they left like that. It took all the fun out of it for me, and all that was left was anger. But with time, the fire turns to embers, the embers turn to ashes, and the ashes turn to dust. Then I was like, ‘What was I mad about in the first place?’ But we couldn’t have done this new album if that hadn’t happened.”
On the album’s creation, he adds, “the time off gave everyone perspective. We realized that we were lucky to have been able to play shows and put out records in the first place. And we’re lucky to be in a position now to continue to do it. That got us pumped to make the best album we could make.”
To coincide with the announcement, DRAGGED UNDER have also unveiled Razor’s Edge Collapse, the latest single to be taken from the forthcoming album, following on from Rebel Son Rise!, released earlier this year.
Discussing the new single, Cappocchi says, “it’s about feeling like your city is always on that razor’s edge, and any day it could all go upside-down. We lived on a busy street right near a mall. We’d hear cops flying down our street all the time. We loved living in Seattle when we were younger, but we had to move because it got dangerous in a lot of ways and I’m not going to do anything that would put me or my kids in danger. If something happened to me, they wouldn’t have a father.”
