Emptiness announce new album ‘Nowhere Speaks’
EMPTINESS have announced a brand new album!
The Belgian extreme music outfit will release their seventh full-length album, Nowhere Speaks, on July 17th, 2026 via Season of Mist. The album is the follow-up to 2021’s Vide and is directly connected to the band’s 2014 release Nothing But The Whole. Spanning ten tracks, Nowhere Speaks opens with Nothing But The Whole (Part 2), beginning mid-riff at the exact point where the earlier album ended in abrupt silence — a cut long discussed among listeners. The album closes by returning to the opening riff of Nothing But The Whole, deliberately sealing the two records into a continuous cycle.
Following the isolation and distortion-free approach of Vide, which was sung entirely in French, Nowhere Speaks marks a return to density, weight and full-band physicality. With the exception of vocals, keyboards and additional effects, the album was recorded live in the studio after four years of preparation. The emphasis is on performance rather than post-production processing.
