Friday Pilots Club announce debut album ‘Nowhere’
FRIDAY PILOTS CLUB have announced their debut album!
Titled Nowhere, the upcoming album from the Chicago-based alternative rock band is their debut full-length album and is scheduled to be released in May this year, via self-release.
“I’ve been obsessed with sexy-sounding music for a long time,” says vocalist Caleb Hiltunen, pointing to vintage favourites such as Humbug by ARCTIC MONKEYS and Rubber Factory by THE BLACK KEYS. “But I’ve also been chasing a sound that’s a little bit more intimate. There’s a darkness to it that is not sad. It’s more moody. I don’t think we could have done that as well three years ago. There’s an undertone of it on the album which makes me really, really, really excited.”
Alongside the announcement of the debut album, FRIDAY PILOTS CLUB have released two new songs from the upcoming album; Spectator and Vampire Disco. Speaking about Spectator, Hiltunen says, “Spectator is the dark passenger and the undying inner critic. In the wake of major changes in our lives, we must choose whether we will go on experiencing things from the driver’s seat or safely spectating life from somewhere outside of ourselves. This song is an ode to that choice and embodies the vision and sonics of the upcoming album Nowhere.”
