Gaerea release new song ‘Shallow’
GAEREA have released a new single!
The new track, Shallow, marks the latest standalone offering from the Porto, Portugal-based black metal collective and arrives ahead of the band’s upcoming North American tour with IMMINENCE and DYING WISH.
The new song follows the release of the band’s latest album, Loss, and sees GAEREA venturing into some of their most experimental territory to date, incorporating extensive vocal and orchestral arrangements while retaining the band’s trademark atmosphere and intensity.
Speaking about the new track, the band says, “Shallow was written on the edge where depression and clarity briefly meet in an endless dance. It is a song about hoping for a brighter day while sinking deeper into the dark sheets of self-loathing. One of the most experimental tracks GAEREA have ever created, it gave rise to extensive vocal and orchestral experimentation and serves as a reflection of what GAEREA has become throughout ten years of relentless creativity, touring, and complete commitment to our true selves.”

Alongside the original version, the band have also unveiled three alternative interpretations of the track. These include an acoustic version featuring acclaimed cellist and composer JO QUAIL, an electronic remix by PARANORMAL ATTACK, and a piano rendition by Juan L. Otaiza, each offering a different perspective on the song’s emotional core.
