Gatecreeper announce new album ‘Dark Superstition’

GATECREEPER have announced a new album!

Titled Dark Superstition, the upcoming album from the American death metal band is the follow-up to 2021’s An Unexpected Reality, and is scheduled to be released in May this year, via Nuclear Blast Records.

The upcoming album was recorded at God City Studios in Salem, MA with CONVERGE guitarist Kurt Ballou, who also mixed the album.

Speaking about the upcoming album, vocalist Chase H. Mason says, “many of the songs incorporate supernatural ideas with my own experiences. But the title itself is a reference to the Superstition Mountains in our home state of Arizona. It’s a beautiful mountain range surrounded by tragedy and legends of hidden fortune.”

Alongside the announcement of the new album, GATECREEPER have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; The Black Curtain. The new song is the second single to be released from the upcoming album, following on from Caught In The Treads, which was released last month.

Speaking about the new song, Mason says, “it’s about being trapped between living and dying. A soul trapped in purgatory begging to be brought back by a supernatural force.”
