Glasswaves announce debut album ‘(while)True’

GLASSWAVES have announced their debut album!

The Rochester, New York alternative metal trio have revealed their debut album, (while)True, which is scheduled for release on October 23rd via SharpTone Records. The upcoming record follows the band’s early singles and EP releases and serves as their first full-length statement, blending dark pop, alternative rock, metalcore and electronic influences into an ambitious conceptual narrative.

According to the band, (while)True centres around a fictional medical technology company named Liminal-Neuro, whose experiments with dream manipulation unleash an ancient entity known as “The Veil”. Through its sci-fi horror-inspired concept, the album explores themes of trauma, addiction, perception and the unseen forces that shape human behaviour.

Speaking about the upc0ming album, vocalist Noah Rich shares, “while(True) is our most ambitious and personal release yet. Through the story of a failing medical technology company experimenting with dream manipulation, we explore themes of trauma, addiction, perception, and the unseen forces that shape the way we think. More than anything, this album represents our growth as writers. We challenged ourselves creatively, stopped following expectations, and made the record we truly wanted to make. We can’t wait for people to experience the world of while(True) and find their own meaning within it.”

To coincide with the announcement, GLASSWAVES have also unveiled Swarm.ING_, the latest single to be taken from the upcoming album. The new song is the latest single to be released from the upcoming album, following on from doomed:2:DIE and fvck.me.up.

Speaking about the new single, Rich shares, “this song is about the feeling of something taking over your mind and feeding off of you, only to realize you are the thing that’s been consuming you. When this one started it felt like we tapped into a new, almost nu-metal direction for us, while still keeping that core GLASSWAVES sound.”
