Gorod announce new album ‘The Ember Gone’

GOROD have announced a brand new album!

The French progressive technical death metal band have announced their new album The Ember Gone, which is scheduled to be released on August 28th via Base Productions and Season of Mist. The album follows on from 2023’s The Orb and sees the Bordeaux band continue to push their progressive and technical sound forward.

Entirely self-produced at Bud Studio by guitarist and principal songwriter Mathieu Pascal, before being mixed and mastered by David Thiers at Secret Place Studio, The Ember Gone intends to mark a return to the progressive spirit of 2011’s Transcendence while exploring new territory through groove, atmosphere and layered arrangements.

Speaking on the new album, guitarist Mathieu Pascal comments, “we are undoubtedly delivering the most singular album in our discography. As we are always driven by the desire not to repeat ourselves, to evolve, and to keep surprising people, we sought new ways to express ourselves through different musical vocabularies than those traditionally associated with extreme metal. This album is freer and more open, yet without compromising the complexity and richness of the songwriting, which will always remain the band’s trademark.”
