Grief Symposium announce new album ‘…In The Absence Of Light’

GRIEF SYMPOSIUM have announced a new album!

Titled …In The Absence Of Light, the new album from the monolithic dark metal band is scheduled to be released in January next year via Church Road Records.

Speaking about the new album, the band comment, “We are honoured to present …In The Absence Of Light through Church Road Records. Our intention with GRIEF SYMPOSIUM is to explore the balance of elegance and death within dark music; to create something emotional, powerful, interesting and different; to use the weapons of death metal, doom, and gothic influences to produce something that resonates and, perhaps, intimidates. Join the mourners.”

Alongside the announcement of the album, today the band have released its lead single Veil Of Transformation.

Speaking about the new song, the band add, “The album is constructed in three chapters, and Veil Of Transformation opens the second of those chapters; the Repentance phase. The metaphors and their interpretation is to each their own, but, for me, this song is around acknowledging an integral root in each of us and its permanence and impact; acceptance; and a realisation of what it takes to make a fundamental change; to taking things into a state of new, different, other. Whatever that may mean, and whatever that may require.”
