INTRODUCING: Blank Atlas

The UK rock and metal scene is overflowing with hot and exciting prospects, one in particular is Bristol’s BLANK ATLAS. The three piece consisting of brothers Dan and Tom Thould (frontman and drummer) and bassist Chris Simpson have only been on the scene a few years but have already made their mark supporting the likes of ALLUSONDRUGSFATHERSON and MAX RAPTOR.

Their second EP entitled Canvas has only been released a matter of weeks and it’s quickly gaining momentum with their brand of upbeat and accessible rock which combines the lethal three piece vocal layering of PRESS TO MECO, the rough around the edges groove of ARCANE ROOTS and the heartfelt, punchy vibes of FRANK TURNER. This material incorporates heavier elements than their earlier material, it will be intriguing to see where the future leads.

“We are so proud of Canvas, we love every song on it and is some of the best songs we’ve written so far. We worked with Simon Jackson for this EP, he was so involved and we were all on the same page” says the band. “He made us sound so much better than we actually are. Also he has top banter, which is key when recording. There have been a load of different kinds of bands that influenced us for this EP. There are so many good bands around at the moment it’s insane.”

With their new EP now released and available, attention turns to the road where the band will aim to build momentum and capitalise on their bubbling prospects. Catch BLANK ATLAS on tour in support of Canvas on the following dates:
