Mongolia honours The Hu with special commemorative coin

THE HU have been honoured with a special commemorative coin!

THE HU, who are Mongolia’s best-known rock band are being honoured with the release of a special Bank of Mongolia commemorative silver and gold coin featuring the Ulan Bator folk-metal quartet.

Formed in 2016, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, the band have achieved global recognition with their songs such as Wolf Totem, Yuve Yuve Yu and The Great Chingiss Khan. They create a combination of Western rock played with traditional Mongolian instruments such as Morin Khuur (horsehead fiddle), Tovshuur (Mongolian guitar), Tumur Khuur (jaw harp) and traditional throat singing in their native language. It is so surprise they have been ear marked as one of the bands taking metal into the new era and are enjoying a high profile to start 2021. The minting of the new coin will only boost them further.
