Motörhead’s Lemmy passes away at age 70
Distorted Sound are devastated to report of the passing of IAN ‘LEMMY’ KILMISTER, frontman and bassist of iconic British heavy metal band MOTÖRHEAD, following a short battle with cancer.
A statement posted on the band’s Facebook page reads as follows:
Reports began emerging via social media in the early hours of Tuesday morning that the 70-year-old singer had died, with journalist Eddie Trunk first to break the news, stating via Twitter:
Sorry to report that I have confirmed Lemmy @myMotorhead has passed away just now at the age of 70. RIP to a true original icon of rock.
