Motörhead’s Lemmy passes away at age 70

Distorted Sound are devastated to report of the passing of IAN ‘LEMMY’ KILMISTER, frontman and bassist of iconic British heavy metal band MOTÖRHEAD, following a short battle with cancer.

A statement posted on the band’s Facebook page reads as follows:

 

Reports began emerging via social media in the early hours of Tuesday morning that the 70-year-old singer had died, with journalist Eddie Trunk first to break the news, stating via Twitter:

Musicians and industry figures from all corners of the rock and metal world soon began to leave their own tributes to the legendary frontman:

Distorted Sound send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Lemmy and MOTÖRHEAD.
