Muse announced as second Glastonbury headliner!

Teignmouth rockers MUSE have been confirmed as the Friday night headliners for this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

The band made their announcement via Twitter this evening, posting the following video clip:

They are the third act to be announced for this year’s incarnation of the festival, joining previously announced headliner COLDPLAY, and JEFF LYNNE’S ELO, who are also set to make an appearance.

MUSE previously topped the bill in 2004 and 2010, making this their third headlining appearance at the prestigious event.

Their Drones World Tour will also take place in April at the following venues across the UK:

April 2 – Birmingham Barclaycard Arena (w/ NOTHING BUT THIEVES)
April 3 – London O2 Arena (w/NOTHING BUT THIEVES)
April 5 – Dublin 3Arena (w/NOTHING BUT THIEVES)
April 6 – Belfast SSE Arena (w/NOTHING BUT THIEVES)
April 8 – Manchester Arena (w/NOTHING BUT THIEVES)
April 9 – Manchester Arena (w/ PHANTOGRAM)
April 11 – London O2 Arena (w/PHANTOGRAM)
April 12 – London O2 Arena (w/PHANTOGRAM)
April 14 – London O2 Arena (w/PHANTOGRAM)
April 15 – London O2 Arena (w/PHANTOGRAM)
April 17 – Glasgow SSE Hydro (w/PHANTOGRAM)
April 18 – Glasgow SSE Hydro (w/NOTHING BUT THIEVES)
