North Sea Echoes announce new album ‘How To Cast A Shadow’
NORTH SEA ECHOES have announced a brand new album!
The upcoming release, titled How To Cast A Shadow, is the second full-length album from the progressive rock/metal duo — featuring FATES WARNING’s Ray Alder and Jim Matheos — and is scheduled to be released on July 24th via Metal Blade Records. The record follows their 2024 debut Really Good Terrible Things and continues to expand on the project’s atmospheric and emotionally driven sound.
The new album is described as a heavier and more expansive step forward for the band, featuring additional live instrumentation including drums from Dennis Leeflang, while still retaining the dynamic, genre-blurring approach established on their debut. Speaking about the new album, the band shares, “you could say that there are elements of everything we do or have done on this album, yet FATES and our various other projects are totally different types of music.”
Alongside the announcement, the band have released the new single Enjoy The View, which arrives with an accompanying music video.
Speaking about the new track, Ray Alder shares, “the guitars and drums have this great drive that builds throughout the song. The combination of quiet verses and heavy choruses made me think (lyrically) of a darker side to some people. Those who would choose numbness over pain.”
