Northlane announce new EP ‘2D’

NORTHLANE have announced a new EP!

Titled 2D, the upcoming EP from the Australian progressive metalcore band features five tracks from the Alien era given an acoustic makeover, and is scheduled to be released later this month, via UNFD. The new acoustic EP follows hot on the heels of 5G, which was released back in February.

Speaking about the upcoming acoustic EP, vocalist Marcus Bridge says, “recording an acoustic EP is something that we’ve wanted to do for quite some time and felt right with the personal nature of the songs from Alien. I wanted to strip these songs back to the bare minimum to juxtapose the soundscapes of the album, a 2D version of sorts.”

Alongside the announcement of the new EP, the band have released the first song from the upcoming release; an acoustic version of Rift. Speaking about the song, Bridge continues, “a song like Rift has a completely different energy in this context and took on new meaning with the recording in the depths of lockdown, now almost feeling like a cry of frustration and despair.”
