Oakman release new music video for ‘Curse’

OAKMAN have released a new music video!

The new music video, for the track Curse, is taken from the French pop-rock trio’s upcoming debut album, Violent Oblivion, which is scheduled to be released in May this year.

Speaking about the new song, the band says, “a year ago, we wrote the song Murder, which described the point of view of a victim suddenly imagining herself, in her fantasy, becoming the murderer of her abuser. But what about the trauma years later? That’s what Curse is about. The song delves into an inner struggle against past trauma or toxic relationships. The lyrics evoke the desire to free oneself from memories and feelings associated with a painful experience, which persist despite everything. The repetition of the refrain ‘But I won’t surrender’ expresses the refusal to give in to the power these thoughts and memories have over the person, affirming that she refuses to be dominated by them and fights for her own healing and emotional freedom.”

Violent Oblivion is set for release on May 3rd via Rude Records. Pre-orders are available now and can be purchased here.
