Outergods announce debut album ‘A Kingdom Built Upon The Wreckage Of Heaven’
OUTERGODS have announced their debut album!
Titled A Kingdom Built Upon The Wreckage Of Heaven, the upcoming album from the Nottingham-based death metal band is their debut full-length album and is scheduled to be released in September this year, via Prosthetic Records.
Speaking about the upcoming album, and signing with Prosthetic, guitarist Nathe Sinfield says, “this album is raw, abrasive, chaotic and exactly what we set out to create. I had been out of the metal scene for a few years when I started writing music for OUTERGODS and I wanted to make something that ticked all the boxes of the extreme metal I like and tend to go back and re-listen to repeatedly. I’ve been a fan of Prosthetic Records since I bought New American Gospel by LAMB OF GOD in the early 00s and it has been an important part of the music that shaped what I write to this day, due to the vast number of iconic releases the label has under its belt. To now be a part of its roster is amazing and I can’t wait to see what happens next.”
Alongside the announcement of the debut album, the band have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; Tangled In The Cogs Of The Nightmare Machine. Speaking about the new song, vocalist Sam Strachan says, “this was one of the later tracks that Nathe sent me during the writing process, and it immediately made a profound impact. I knew it was going to be a lead single. It showcases all the elements of OUTERGODS in one track. Lyrically, this was born of exhaustion from the corporate world, likening it to a big machine that chews you up and spits you out with no feeling of reward or sense of purpose. Especially in today’s world, the reality is for most folk (me included) that they’re one or two paychecks away from being in a dire situation. It was a nice platform to vent my frustration in that area.”
