Outergods release new song ‘Flesh Prison’
OUTERGODS have released a brand new song!
The new song, titled Flesh Prison, is taken from the Nottingham-based death metal band’s upcoming debut album, A Kingdom Built Upon The Wreckage Of Heaven, which is scheduled to be released in September this year.
Speaking about the new song, guitarist Nathe Sinfield says, “this was the second OUTERGODS song that was written and, like our previous single Nothing But a Fetid Worm, it gets straight into the chaos. This song quickly descends into an abrasive, discordant wall of noise using a blend of FX pedals and electronics, before falling apart completely. I think it helps sum up the overarching theme of the album in that respect.”
Vocalist Sam Strachan adds, “this is probably one of the most personal songs I’ve ever written, lyrically. It’s about feeling trapped in your own mind and feeling helpless. When Nathe sent it over to me, I fell in love with it immediately. Although it was extreme, it had a hardcore element which I really gelled with. I was listening to a lot of bands like VEIN.FM and LOATHE at the time and told Nathe he needed to add a filthy breakdown riff to the end of the song. This is my favourite of ours to play live.”
