Pallbearer announce new album ‘Mind Burns Alive’

PALLBEARER have announced a new album!

Titled Mind Burns Alive, the upcoming album from the American doom metal band is the follow-up to 2020’s Forgotten Days, and is scheduled to be released in May this year, via Nuclear Blast Records.

As a group, the band self-produced the album in their own, newly constructed studio (Idlewild Audio) and at Fellowship Hall Sound. Reflecting on this, bassist/vocalist Joseph D. Rowland says, “it’s ironic given that the album is largely centered around isolation, but it felt like it summoned us into being back together again in one town, after so long apart.”

Speaking about the upcoming album, vocalist/guitarist Brett Campbell says, “these songs are a deeper exploration of dynamics and sonic color than anything we have done up to this point. I’m of the belief that true heaviness comes from emotional weight, and sometimes sheer bludgeoning isn’t the right approach to getting a feeling across.”

Alongside the announcement of the new album, PALLBEARER have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; Where The Light Fades. Speaking about the new song, Campbell describes the track as “vignettes that tell the stories of people who deal with myriad sicknesses of the spirit… illnesses communicated by the world we live in, and the subjects are the symptoms of the disease.”
