PREMIERE: Cocaine Hippo – Fire Down Below

We at Distorted Sound are pleased to premiere the brand new song from FIRE DOWN BELOW!

The new song, titled Cocaine Hippo, is taken from the Ghent-based heavy stoner rock band’s upcoming new album, Low Desert Surf Club, which is scheduled to be released in September this year.

Speaking about the new song, the band tells us, “the song is, perhaps unfortunately, neither about cocaine nor hippos, it’s a working title that just sounded way too cool to drop. It’s the album opener and the message is: ‘get in the car and buckle up, we’re driving to the desert and it’s going to be wild’, and the lyrics are emphasizing that from the first line: ‘Start ‘er up, we’ll take you for a ride!’. It’s the kind of song we’d want to hear playing on the radio when we’re driving on the desert highways. There are also some references to the album’s artwork (by Christi duToit) in the lyrics.”

Low Desert Surf Club is set for release on September 8th via Ripple Music. Pre-orders are available now and can be purchased here.
