PREMIERE: Liquid Gold – CREATURE
Distorted Sound is pleased to premiere a new live session video from CREATURE!
The new video, for the song Liquid Gold, is taken from the Birmingham alt metal trio’s debut EP HEX which was released last month. The video captures the band performing the track live in session.
Speaking about the new video and the live sessions, bassist/vocalist Dan Willett says, “we’ve always taken a raw and organic approach towards CREATURE‘s music since day one, so doing a live session made perfect sense. I work as a producer/engineer at The Mushrooms studio in Birmingham, which gave me the opportunity to take the reigns on the live project. Tom [Bradshaw – drums] and I tracked live together during the original EP sessions, so from a performance perspective it was a natural extension of that with James [Thompson – vocals/guitars] too. Being on both sides of the desk simultaneously can pose a different kind of challenge, so our touring engineer Baden Fitzmaurice was also on hand to assist where I’d otherwise need to be in two places at once. There’s a tangible sense of urgency to the songs in a live setting that can be difficult to capture in a more controlled environment. Steve [Sears – Monolith Studios] did a great job of maintaining that kind of energy on the HEX EP. Performing it live once again in the studio was great to re-visit and we can’t wait to explore this approach further in future.”
