Rifflord announce new album ’39 Serpent Power’
RIFFLORD have announced a new album!
Titled 39 Serpent Power, the upcoming album from the South Dakota-based doom metal/stoner rock band is the long-awaited follow-up to 2018’s 7 Cremation Ground / Meditation, and is scheduled to be released in June this year, via Ripple Music.
The upcoming album album was written and recorded in a pre-COVID world and then buried like a time capsule until 2024 to be released. Heavily influenced by the old American West, down-tuned guitars, orchestrated keys and thunderously abrasive drums, the upcoming album intends to leave a mark that both romanticises the past while beating back against the mainstream.
Alongside the announcement of the new album, RIFFLORD have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; Serpent Power. The new song intends to encapsulate the raw visceral energy one gets from their initial love affair with substance abuse and the false freedom and power that eventually turns on the user over time. Just as the snake eats its own tail, this album takes the listener through the journey of excess, self-destruction, self-realization and the long walk out of the hell that is addiction.
