Shadow Of Intent announce new album ‘Melancholy’

SHADOW OF INTENT have announced a new album! 

Titled Melancholy, the upcoming album from the Connecticut deathcore squad is their third studio album and is scheduled to be released in August this year!

Melancholy was written over the course of over two years in the band’s home state of Connecticut where guitar player and producer Chris Wiseman crafted the ten songs at his home studio. Wiseman then worked remotely with keyboard virtuoso Francesco Ferrini (FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE) to bring a new level of dimension to the orchestral arrangements and afterwards took the songs to The Grid in Montreal where engineer Christian Donaldson (CRYPTOPSY) took the helm and tracked the band’s new drummer Anthony Barone (Formerly of AEGAEON/A NIGHT IN TEXAS) as he performed and refined the drums on the album. Finally, vocalist Ben Duerr joined up with Wiseman and finalised the songs with their vocal arrangements, so everything could be taken back to Donaldson for mixing and mastering. The album artwork was created by Pär Olofsson (EXODUS, IMMORTAL, THE FACELESS).

Speaking on Melancholy, Duerr says “Today is a day we’ve been looking forward to for so long. After nearly tearing our souls apart for months on end, we are very excited to show you the next track of our upcoming record, Melancholy. What you see is the culmination of 2 long years of hard work, discipline, aggravation and obsession. I believe we have all pushed ourselves above and beyond, being unafraid to attempt things unfamiliar to us, and giving our absolute best performances. Every track is unique, and represents the band in ways you’ve never heard before. This is the record we’ve always aspired to write. This is Melancholy.”

Alongside the announcement of the new album, SHADOW OF INTENT have released the first taster from the upcoming record, a music video for Barren And Breathless Macrocosm, featuring guest vocals from Trevor Strnad of THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER.
