Slam Dunk Festival announce five new bands
Slam Dunk Festival have announced five new bands for this year’s festival!
With just four weeks until the UK’s biggest alternative party makes its much anticipated return, following on from June’s announcement, that saw the likes of FRANK TURNER & THE SLEEPING SOULS, iconic punk rock group ALKALINE TRIO, Welsh emo-rockers FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND, synth-pop outfit HELLOGOODBYE and more confirmed, five more bands have been announced to the lineup!
CREEPER, BRUTALITY WILL PREVAIL, NAHFINNCE, THE SKINTS and FOR YOU THE MOON will all perform at the festival this September. The newly announced bands come as SUM 41, FOUR YEAR STRONG, ME FIRST & THE GIMME GIMMES, THE VANDALS, WITH CONFIDENCE, CROWN THE EMPIRE, ICE NINE KILLS and FREE THROW withdraw from the festival due to complications around international travel thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking about performing at this year’s festival, Josh Waters Rudge of THE SKINTS says, “Slam Dunk is one of THE SKINTS‘ happy places, and to be coming back after the pandemic to this Punk In Drublic Stage with so many of our friends and heroes feels like an absolute dream after the nightmare of no shows for a year and a half!”
BRUTALITY WILL PREVAIL adds, “we are super excited to finally get back to it like everyone else must be. The lineup is stacked so whether you’re new to us or not, come see what we are all about!”
And Isaac Cooter of FOR YOU THE MOON says, “we grew up going to Slam Dunk Festival and have seen so many of our idols on the key club stage! The fact that NORMANDIE are playing the same stage as us is mental – those guys are absolutely phenomenal and a big inspiration for our sound! This is just the beginning – we’ve been working so hard to get our live set to where it is now, I genuinely believe it’s built for those big stages! Big love to the Slam Dunk team – you guys are CLASS.”
Slam Dunk Festival North will take place on Saturday September 4th 2021 at Temple Newsam and Slam Dunk South will take place on Sunday September 5th at Hatfield Park. Tickets are available now and can be purchased here.
