Slam Dunk Festival reveal 14 new bands
14 new bands have been announced for next year’s Slam Dunk Festival!
After announcing the likes of CHUNK! NO, CAPTAIN CHUNK!, THE AMITY AFFLICTION, SPANISH LOVE SONGS and more last month, now, another 14 bands have been announced for the UK’s biggest alternative party.
Canadian punk-rock titans SUM 41 will return to the bill in the headline slot and Celtic-American punks DROPKICK MURPHYS join the lineup as the festival’s third headliner alongside post-hardcore heavy-hitters ALEXISONFIRE, who were announced in September.
Previously announced headliners RANCID are no longer performing at the festival next summer, the new headliners will be joined by THE INTERRUPTERS, KENNYHOOPLA, PENNYWISE, PINKSHIFT, DEAF HAVANA, THE MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES, KNUCKLE PUCK, HOT MULLIGAN, ESKIMO CALLBOY, YOURS TRULY, MOD SUN and BEAUTY SCHOOL.
Speaking about performing at next year’s festival, James Veck-Gilodi of DEAF HAVANA says, “after the nightmare past two years and the insane blow to the live/creative industry, words cannot describe how excited I am to play shows again, and even more so knowing that it’s Slam Dunk. This festival has been a place where I have always had a good time, but most importantly been to and played some of the most fun shows of my life. There are always a huge amount of friends there and I can’t wait to come back with a new, more focussed mindset.”
YOURS TRULY says, “we’re so excited to finally play Slam Dunk. Having to miss it last time due to international travel was super sad, but we’re so grateful to have another opportunity to play such a sick festival.” And Joe Cabrera of BEAUTY SCHOOL adds, “it’s hard to describe what it means to us to be playing Slam Dunk Festival and to be signed to Slam Dunk Records. Slam Dunk is such a unique and special festival that influenced so much about our band both musically and personally as well. We grew up at Slam Dunk. This is our home. These are our people.”
Slam Dunk Festival North will take place on Friday June 3rd 2022 at Temple Newsam and Slam Dunk South will take place on Saturday June 4th at Hatfield Park. Tickets are available now and can be purchased here.
