An ambulance was called for SLIPKNOT bassist Alessandro ‘Vman’ Venturella at their gig last night (Sunday,2nd of August).
Playing at the XFInity Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut, SLIPKNOT‘s set was interrupted momentarily as an ambulance was called for bassist Venturella.Leaving fans confused and concerned, The band, minus Venturella, returned to the stage, and vocalist Corey Taylor addressed the crowd the best he could, saying this : “I’m sorry to say that our bass player, Alex – something happened. I’m not sure what happened. He’s going to the hospital as we speak. I want you to all make some noise for him – send him some love.”

Instead of packing up and cancelling the rest of their set, SLIPKNOT picked up their instruments and continued the show, saying it is what Alex ‘Vman’ Venturella, would have wanted. Below is a video taken by a fan, detailing the chaos and confusion both backstage and in the crowd until the band return to the stage.

Alex first played bass for the band in 2014,4 years after Paul Gray’s untimely passing. As of the time of this article, SLIPKNOT have yet to release a press statement with the details of what happened on stage last night. Our thoughts here at Distorted Sound are with Vman and we wish him a full recovery, whatever the issue.
