Thulcandra announce new album ‘Hail The Abyss’

THULCANDRA have announced a new album!

Titled Hail The Abyss, the upcoming album from the German blackened death metal band is the follow-up to 2021’s A Dying Wish, and is scheduled to be released in May this year, via Napalm Records.

The upcoming album was produced by Dan Swanö [DISSECTION, OPETH, KATATONIA] and the album’s artwork was created by Lochner.

Speaking about the upcoming album, band mastermind Steffen Kummerer says, “with Hail The Abyss, we just count the fifth album within 20 years of THULCANDRA. A banger, and a diverse record that shows a unique blend of black and death metal, combined with classic heavy metal twin guitars. The album turned out excellent and Dan Swanö delivered a splendid mix – raw, natural and showcasing each individual musician on the record. Hail The Abyss undoubtedly turned into a highlight of our long lasting career.“

Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; As I Walk Through The Gateway.

Speaking about the new song, Kummerer says, “As I Walk Through The Gateway turned into a catchy, relentless and melodic exercise of black & death metal that blends the strengths of the band in a unique form. Catch the band on their first North American tour alongside FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE, OBSCURA and WOLFHEART to feel the blistering power behind this composition in a live setting.”
