Top 10 Bands To See at UK Tech-Fest 2018 by Unprocessed
With each day that passes, UK Tech-Fest draws ever closer and we here at Distorted Sound are getting incredibly excited for this year’s festival! Yesterday we turned to the lads in FROM SORROW TO SERENITY to give us their top ten picks of the weekend, today, we turn to German progressive death metallers UNPROCESSED who arrive at Tech-Fest on the back of the release of their latest album, Covenant. Take it away guys!
CRYSTAL LAKE
Nice to see a Japanese metal-band touring the UK and mainland Europe. They definitely are doing one hell of a job blending nu metal, hardcore and djent elements into one another and make an interesting addition to the billing!
THE CONTORTIONIST
Easily one of our all time favourite bands and a huge influence for our music! They never fail to bring something new and fresh to the table. The atmosphere and the overall vibe of their music on every single album is amazingly unique and their stage performances are mesmerising!
JINJER
Definitely a very cool band. They have this special spice created by the combination of cleans and harsh vocals, while the unison guitar play these weird but absolutely sick riffs. The drummer and the bassists are also crazy good musicians! Stoked to see them in action on UK Tech-Fest!
VALIS ABLAZE
Our labelmates, and one of our favourite UK tech acts. They have a massive pulse to their rhythms and know how to lay out their songs for huge vocal arrangements. We are going to tour the UK with those guys right before UK Tech-Fest, so we are stoked to see them perform even more than once on this run!
FROM SORROW TO SERENITY
Also on Long Branch Records with us and VALIS ABLAZE and just as sick! These boys have such a punch and play a really aggressive and raw kind of modern metal – a really refreshing force within our rows!
PROTEST THE HERO
These classy 80s vocals combined with almost hectically played modern guitars just make PROTEST THE HERO one of the huge and most memorable bands in the line up. They have been around for a good couple of years, started as teenagers and are inspirational in their endurance as an active touring band!
VOLA
What a band! Sick concepts and very unique sound. We especially love their visualisation, the Stray the Skies video is a must watch and the song is a real banger, too!
THE DALI THUNDERING CONCEPT
Speaking of visualisation, the video for The Myth of Happiness is such an amazing piece of art and their whole current record has an awesome concept and a really memorable, aggressive and brutal sound to it. These guys will headline one of our dates in London on the 3rd of July – this is gonna be so cool!
THE HIRSCH EFFEKT
Nice to see fellow Germans and even more labelmates playing this years UK Tech-Fest! THE HIRSCH EFFEKT are such a great and energetic act, and the German lyrics kind of make their sound even more raw and brutally honest. Hard to put in just a few words, we definitely appreciate their artistry and will make sure to catch their set!
