Wardruna’s Einar Selvik features on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla soundtrack

WARDRUNA‘s Einar Selvik features on the soundtrack for the next game in the Assassin’s Creed series!

Lakeshore Records in partnership with Ubisoft have released today Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Out Of The North, a seven-track EP of original music taken from the forthcoming official soundtrack to the next instalment of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The EP features selections by the three artists contributing music for the current game set in the Dark Age of England; BAFTA Award-winning Danish composer Jesper Kyd (Assassin’s Creed, Ezio Trilogy), American composer Sarah Schachner (Assassin’s Creed Origins) and Norwegian musician Einar Selvik of WARDRUNA, who contributes original songs. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will release worldwide on November 17th, 2020 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4PS5 and Windows PC.

“It’s a great honor for me to be welcomed into this massive Assassin’s Creed entity and long-time pillars of historical storytelling in games!” Einar says. “I have been tasked by Ubisoft to create music that displays and builds upon authentic Norse historical musicality. Through historical instruments, their inherent tonalities, oral poetic traditions and language, I have aimed to make creations that could potentially bring the player closer to the theme and era of the game. It feels great to finally be able share the first piece of music with you all!”

The aforementioned first piece of music from the soundtrack appears on the Out Of The North EP and is titled Hrafnsmál – The Words of the Raven.
