Wolves In The Throne Room release new music video for ‘Estuary’

WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM have released a new music video!

The Washington-based atmospheric black metal pioneers have unveiled Estuary, the second track to be lifted from their upcoming new album, Estuary, which is scheduled for release on October 23rd via Century Media Records and Relapse Records. The new record follows 2021’s Primordial Arcana and continues the band’s distinctive fusion of black metal, mythology and environmental storytelling.

Speaking about the title track, vocalist/guitarist Nathan Weaver says, “if wilderness overcame the cities in the future, the estuaries would be realms of power and magic. Within the world-building of the album, the estuaries are key nexus points where magic has taken on physical form. Spirits, both good and evil, walk the earth.”

Discussing the album’s concept, the band add, “the record is set 1,000 years in the future. Survivors of a cataclysm wander the haunted ruins. It is a world of mutant creatures and open portals. Post-apocalyptic religion takes form in a wild landscape.”

Watch the official music video for Estuary here:

Produced by the band themselves, the accompanying video sees mythical figures traversing landscapes reclaimed by nature, with decayed concrete, abandoned railway tracks and industrial ruins consumed by vegetation. The imagery mirrors the album’s post-apocalyptic setting, where wilderness has reclaimed the remnants of human civilisation.
