Yautja announce new album ‘The Lurch’

YAUTJA have announced a new album!

Titled The Lurch, the upcoming album from the Nashville grindcore/sludge metal trio is their brand new full-length album and is scheduled to be released in May this year, via Relapse Records.

The upcoming album was recorded by Scott Evans at the legendary Steve Albini‘s Electrical Audio studio in Chicago and intends to mark another step forward for the band.

Speaking about the upcoming album, the band says, “we’ve spent a lot of time working on these songs and after sitting on this recording for a clusterfuck pandemic of a year we couldn’t be more ready to share this with the world.”

The upcoming album intends to convey the personal frustrations and sociopolitical observations of its creators. “We’ve got our bubble of friends and artists and businesses, but you drive 30 minutes out of town and you see confederate flags or people wearing t-shirts that say, ‘Redneck Lives Matter’,” bassist/vocalist Kayhan Vaziri adds. “So there’s a lot of frustration there, and some the lyrics pertain to that.”

Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released a new music video for the first song lifted from the upcoming release; Tethered.
