Abrams announce new album ‘Blue City’
ABRAMS have announced a new album!
Titled Blue City, the upcoming album from the Colorado-based heavy rock band is the follow-up to 2022’s In The Dark, and is scheduled to be released in May this year, via Blues Funeral Recordings.
The upcoming album was recorded and produced by Kurt Ballou [CONVERGE, HIGH ON FIRE, TORCHE, CHELSEA WOLFE] at his legendary GodCity Studio. Speaking about the upcoming album, guitarist/vocalist Zachary Amster says, “the songs on Blue City deal with the feeling of being trapped in a place of comfort and normality. Where we may really want to pack up and try anything new; but the scare of change is holding us back for what is known as routine. The blue city is a metaphor, for this is a cold but familiar place that keeps us imprisoned from any drastically new experience. A comfort in the familiar, a fear of the unknown.”
Alongside the announcement of the new album, ABRAMS have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; Fire Waltz. Speaking about the new song, Amster says, “I didn’t think this song would make the record, yet it turned out really great in the studio, with some of my favorite guitar tones on the album. The second verse is a standout to me, with its ethereal trippy guitar lead and memorable vocal melody singing ‘haunted idols’. When we added this to the song, it definitely made it a game-changer. Additionally, the rock-out jam in the odd time signature of five is a fun part to play.”
