Eihwar announce new album ‘Hugrheim’

EIHWAR have announced a brand new album!

The French Viking war‑trance duo have announced their upcoming album, Hugrheim. The record is the follow-up to 2024’s Viking War Trance and intends to expand the band’s fictional mythology, and is scheduled to be released in March this year, via Season Of Mist.

Speaking about the album’s concept, Mark and Asrunn explain, “over the past few years, our souls have gradually taken over the bodies of two human musicians. Through incarnation, we lost much of our memories. All that remains are images, emotions, and fragments from our previous existence… In this new song, we evoke the memories that gradually come back to us: memories of Hugrheim, the tenth world of Yggdrasil, hidden and unknown to men… When our vessels perish here, we will return to Hugrheim — though we hope to remain here as long as possible this time, because the beer is good, the rockstar life is cool, and dental anesthesia actually exists.”

To mark the announcement, the band have released a new single, Nauðiz. The accompanying music video presents this mythology in live‑action form, following Asrunn’s collapse and rebirth through Mark’s protective magic.
